Thomas Jefferson said that given the choice between government without newspapers and newspapers without government, he would choose to have newspapers.

In medicine we have government without newspapers. Patients cannot find out what they need to know to make informed choices. No one in medicine records or reports the information patients need to know the most. So patients will have to.

Patients' Rights

under construction

The banter of the bazaar is the rock bottom foundation of patient safety, and it is not allowed.

The first right must be the right to communicate. Healthcare professionals can communicate information about patients whether it is negative, positive, unfounded or even malicious. To put reigns on their communication would have negative impacts on their ability to deliver healthcare so no one is suggesting that.

But patients are not allowed to communicate, and that impacts negatively on their healthcare. Patients are sued for speaking about healthcare professionals. Try reporting that a healthcare professional sexually abused you. If you tell another patient, you will be hit with a temporary restraining order followed by a defamation suit.
